Why is the pollen so bad this year? We are not alone. My fellow Allergists are seeing the same thing in their patients. Our practice has recently seen an increase in allergic hives this year, much higher than any other year.

As many of my dear patients know, in this time of social isolation, my family has taken on numerous hobbies in order to avoid boredom. To her credit, one of the best ideas my teenage daughter has had is gardening.

What I have learned about cats during the pandemic…. Those of my patients that know me well know me as a dog person. To date, I have not been able to replace Doogie and Mojo because they are irreplaceable in my heart.

With the end of summer comes fall and brings along the allergy season when people can suffer from fall allergies. The symptoms of allergy usually last until you are exposed to the triggers or allergens.

For people having a predisposition to allergy, fall is the most susceptible time to acquire seasonal allergies. Around 35 million Americans can suffer from nasal congestion, runny nose, watery eyes, itching, hives or sneezing during fall.

With the arrival of back-to-school season, many essential requirements need to be fulfilled. Not only do children need to make necessary back to school preparations, the parents equally uphold the responsibility of ensuring a child’s health and well-being.

The U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute mentions these potential signs that asthma is getting worse: Your symptoms become more severe or occur more frequently. Or they affect you more at night and interfere with sleep.

People with the syndrome experience uncomfortable sensations and strong urges to move their legs, which can be painful and disrupt sleep, according to Dr. William Ondo. He is director of the Movement Disorders Clinic at Houston Methodist Hospital.
